Is the game free?

Yes. REALMSHARD is free and in open beta, in your browser as well as in the apps for Windows, macOS and Android. No ads.

What can I play on?

In a recent browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) on a computer, tablet or phone: play now. There are also apps for Windows 10 and 11, macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) and Android 7 or later: see the Download page.

Why do Windows, macOS or Android show a warning?

The files are not signed by a known publisher: a Windows certificate and an Apple Developer account ($99 a year) cost a lot for a free fan project. Windows SmartScreen then offers “More info › Run anyway”, macOS asks you to open the app from System Settings › Privacy & Security, and Android to allow installing unknown apps. The Download page details every step and publishes the SHA-256 fingerprint of each file.

If Windows 11 Smart App Control is on, it blocks the installer with no way around it: play in your browser instead.

Is there an iPhone or iPad app?

Not yet: on iPhone and iPad, Apple only allows installing an app through the App Store or TestFlight, both of which require an Apple Developer account. Meanwhile, open Safari on realmshard.fr, tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen”: the game then opens full screen, like an app.

Do I need an account?

Yes: a free account (e-mail address and password) is required to play. Your progress is saved in the cloud and follows you from one device to another; once the e-mail is confirmed, you also get the leaderboards, ranked and the Realm War.

Does my progress move from the browser to the app?

Yes, with an account: sign in with the same account in the browser and in the app, and your cloud save links them. An account is needed to play; you can also export your save from Options › Save.

How do I update an app?

The game in the browser is always up to date. For the apps, download the new version from the Download page and install it over the old one: your progress is kept. On Android, installing over the old app works because every version is signed with the same key.

How do I check that a file was not tampered with?

Every release publishes a SHA256SUMS.txt file. Compute your file’s fingerprint (Windows: Get-FileHash REALMSHARD-Windows-Setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256 in PowerShell; macOS: shasum -a 256 REALMSHARD-macOS.dmg in Terminal) and compare it with the one on the Download page.

Which languages is the game in?

French, English and German. The game picks your device’s language; you can change it in the Options.

Is this an official game?

No. REALMSHARD is an unofficial, free fan project with no link to the rights holders of the world that inspires it.

How do I report a bug?

In the game, with the “Report a bug” button of the main menu or the Options (F8 key on a computer). You can also write to pikafpv@gmail.com.

How do I delete my account and my data?

In the game: Options › Save › Account › “Delete my account”. Everything is explained on the Delete my account page, and the privacy policy details which data is kept and for how long.
